Here In America - we’ve got lots of cars and gasoline
Here In America - just like movies on the silver screen
Here In America - people try to keep the city clean
Here In America - urban decay’s tearing at the seams
We’ve gotten out of harmony with life my love
We don’t have no room for all this push and shove
And some of our convictions are leading us astray
Get your ship together man, yeah try and find the way
We are one all US on our way home
Here In America - folk’s aint known for what they’re doing good
Here In America - bullets fly all through the neighborhood
Here In America - fingers point but not to where they should
Here In America -things don’t grow the way they really could
We’ve gotten out of harmony with life my love
There’s so many things that we must rise above
And though our indiscretions are standing in the way
Better get a grip on it before it’s time to pay
We are one all US on our way home
Here In America - rich folks like to pay their taxes – yeah
Here In America - other folks they live in shacks – as though
Here In America - folks don’t know just what the facts is though
Here In America - we all like to grind our axes
We’re out on the highway of life my friends
And what happens next, well that just depends
The sum of our positions we can’t righteously defend
The truth is reality don’t let yours be pretend
We are one all US on our way home
Yeah we’re going home,
Bye bye, see you later
On our way home today!
Oh, welcome to America.
